FREE SEMINAR: Produktibong Pinoy, JULY 18-19

TOPIC: Agritecture

WHEN:  July 18-19  2013, 9am-5pm

SPEAKER: Mon Penalosa

Workable farm designs.

Known for his farming technology innovations, Peñalosa focused on what he called "Agritecture." The term was coined due to the fusion of agriculture and architecture which, for him, are symbiotic, unified, complementary and co-existing. Principles under the 'agritecture' include the dynamic and living synergy among agricultural elements like plants and animals, architectural building components (such as walls, windows, among others), the climate and the human inhabitants. For him, it can also be associated with vertical farming.

Furthermore, Peñalosa illustrated and demonstrated how 'agritecture' can become a sustainable habitat through the merging of productivity and creativity. He heightened the awareness and appreciation of the participants and even challenged them to grow their own food within their vicinity or at the comfort of their own homes.

'Agritecture' is only one of three components of Peñalosa's "Produktibong Pinoy" program in partnership with ATI to strenghten his organic agriculture advocacy and alleviate the lives of the Filipino farmers.
